Hotel California

Hotel California – The Original Tribute To The Eagles

When The Eagles stopped to catch their breath a few decades ago, having sold over 100 million records, collected six Grammy’s, and enjoyed six #1 albums, Hotel California began a pioneering journey through their history-making  music that has taken them around the globe and thrilled hundreds of thousands of Eagles fans. It’s been a journey they could never have imagined back in 1986, but their dedication, unique musical gifts, and an obsessive commitment to doing this legendary music true justice in performance, set them apart from the many Eagles bands that came after them. Hotel California toured relentlessly from the 80’s straight through to today, setting the standard for world-class tribute productions as they went, and sharing stages with the likes of The Doobie Bros., Lynyrd Skynyrd, Gretchen Wilson, REO Speedwagon, and many more.  From Japan to Dubai, Toronto to Texas, Hotel California has boldly taken the tribute band where none had gone before them, and changed an industry’s collective mind about how good a “tribute” band could really be.

Today Hotel California continues to tour internationally, and their stage show has evolved into one of the most impressive and popular productions on the North American soft-seat and festival circuits. Featuring original members within their strongest lineup to date, the band is enjoying what they do today more than ever – and it sure sounds like it! It won’t take you long to hear why legions of Eagles fans come back to see them time after time, and the top venues & festivals have them back again and again. The easy-going warmth that comes from the band onstage exemplifies the Southern California sound of the 1970’s. The experience of a Hotel California show isn’t just about the band – it’s about celebrating the music and the memories, and the band gets the audiences involved and on their feet! Close your eyes and you’re right back there…

For any band to continually exceed such high expectations this deep into their career, and remain at the top of their field for as long as Hotel California have, is a truly remarkable accomplishment. That’s why when top talent buyers need the proven, absolute highest quality Eagles show in the world, they book the original Hotel California year after year.  –  Steve Birnstihl, CTA Tributes

The members of Hotel California have also performed in many other touring bands, such as The Guess Who, April Wine, Glass Tiger, Coney Hatch, and Foot In Cold Water.

The Philosopher Kings

Two decades ago, The Philosopher Kings took the Canadian music industry by storm
with their infectious melodies, undeniable energy and a unique combination of pop andalternative rock. Winning a Juno Award in 1996 for Best New Group and landing on the U.S. Top 40 chart that same year with the hit single Charms, the band criss-crossed the country,
becoming one of the most sought after and popular live acts on the circuit. Ten years ago, in 2006, the band took a hiatus as the members of the group became busy with individual producing and recording projects. Fast forward to 2017, The Philosopher Kings have reunited with a renewed energy, revitalized focus – and brand new material. Fans of the band will get a chance to once again hear the eminently memorable, groove-infused songs that made them a live event favourite, including I Am the Man, Cry, Hurts to Love You, and Castles in the Sand, as well as some new favourites. The band’s lineup is comprised of long-time members Gerald Eaton (vocals), drummer Denton Whited, keyboardist Jon Levine and guitarists James Bryan and Brian West. The talented quintet has been sequestered in their rehearsal space honing their live show, but also composing and recording hotly anticipated new material. The band’s recording career began with its self-titled debut in 1994, which spawned the hit single Charms, with the album eventually earning Gold status in Canada. Their commercial, critical and popular breakthrough occurred with the release of the second Philosopher Kings’ album, Famous, Rich and Beautiful in 1997, which was certified Platinum. A live album, One Night Stand was released in 1999, followed by Castles in 2006, whereupon the band took an extended break. In the interim, Eaton continued to sing as a solo artist under the nom de plume of Jarvis Church, and has collaborated with the likes of K’naan, Nelly Furtado, and Esthero. He is also one half of the production duo “Track & Field” with band mate Brian West, who has had great success in his solo songwriter and production endeavours which include Maroon 5 and Nelly Furtado’s Latin Grammy Award winning album Mi Plan (2009). James Bryan has also remained immersed in the music industry as a producer and songwriter, including being one half of the animated pop duo Prozzäk, and earning writing credits on hits by numerous artists including Jessie J, James Blunt, Jason Mraz and Olly Murs.Jon Levine is also a producer and songwriter of note, collaborating with the likes of Rachel Platten, Andy Grammer, Drake, Selena Gomez and U2 front man Bono, while Denton Whited is an in-demand live and studio drummer and percussionist. As busy and fulfilled as they are with their individual careers, the call from fans to return to The Philosopher Kings fold could no longer be resisted and the band members are thrilled to be able to bring their songs, their superior showmanship and their high-octane, invigorating live shows to stages worldwide.

Jonathan Roy

You would have thought Jonathan Roy’s destiny was preordained with success. He watched from a front row seat as his father, Patrick Roy, built one of the greatest legacies in the game of Hockey. A decade later, his father and coach at the time, sat the aspiring go alie down and
delivered the harsh news that an NHL career was not in the card s for his young son.
But instead of being despondent or heading back to school as his Dad urged – Jonathan was
actually relieved & then completely stunned his father with the declaration that music was truly
in his blood & the only career path he wanted to follow. The quest lead him to a chance introduction with Canadian music icon Corey Hart in early 2013, who happened to be looking for a new artist on his label Siena Records, partnered with Warner Music Canada & Sire Records in the Unites States. As soon as Hart heard Jonathan’s passionate & authentic vocal delivery he knew he had found the substantive music talent he had always been searching for. Since then, the pair have been virtually inseparable, forging a very deep personal, working relationship by honing in on the musical sound which would ultimately define Jonathan Roy to the world at large.
“Daniella Denmark” Jonathan’s debut single soared into the Top 10 @ Canadian Radio in 2016.
̈CH (Corey Hart) always pushes me to be a better, more rounded artist,by setting the highest
standards for myself & never allowing me to settle for mediocrity with my work ethic…. or any
of my artistic goals. Hés been an incredible mentor to me ̈ Jonathan Roy has made it abundantly clear that he was born to be on stage making music. I do want to be the next Ed Sheeran or the next Vance Joy. I want to sell millions and millions of records like they have he declares,
but the main thing is to be happy. If I can just put a plate on my table at home and be able to say I paid for this, worked for it by playing music, I’d be proud of that. I love to write and express my life. If I can keep doing that for the rest of my days that would be my success story.”

The Next Generation Leahy

Building on over three generations of Leahy musicianship, Doug Leahy, together with his wife Jennifer and their children, are keeping those traditions alive through music, song, and dance.

Doug, as a member of “Leahy” and Jennifer, having played music throughout her life, both understand the joy and exhilaration only music can provide. It is no wonder then that their children understand innately that music will be a huge part of their lives. Even the smallest children feel the music pulsing through their veins. They are drawn to it. They are passionate about it.

It is this drive to create music that has led Doug and Jennifer’s children to achieve so much, even at their young ages. Still all in elementary school, the children are accomplished multi-instrumentalists. Led by Doug, live performances are filled with the high-energy, infectious Celtic-based music people associate with the Leahy heritage. Fiddle, cello, French accordion, singing, piano, and French-Canadian step-dancing all find a voice on stage. And the children, so in love with what they are doing, enamour audiences who don’t want the show to end. Having shared stages across North America with “Leahy”, their performances leave audiences in awe.

This rare talent in children so young is an inspiration to other children and families alike, showing just what young people are capable of. The joy of music is meant for all and Doug and his family are set on sharing that joy with each and every audience.

Stef Paquette

Having recently turned 40, Stef Paquette has been taking time to hear his inner voice, write new songs and simply live life. The renowned Franco-Ontarian singer-songwriter is also well known as a radio host across Northeastern Ontario with Le Loup FM and an actor in the popular TV series Hard Rock Medical and Les Bleus de Ramville.

But the Sudbury-born signer is still thrusting forward in his musical career as well.

A natural showman with a wacky sense of humour, Stef Paquette loves being on stage and his audiences love seeing him there. Alone with his guitar and harmonica or along with his band, he has been crisscrossing Canada for years, playing countless festivals, concerts, major events and school workshops. In April 2015, his faithful fans were rewarded with a new online EP containing several songs that had previously been heard in live performances only. The multifaceted artist also unveiled the single Si jamais (If Ever), an upbeat pop-rock rendition of his well-loved acoustic ballad. These latest recordings introduce a new sound in comparison to his acclaimed 2012 album Le Salut de l’arrière-pays (Backcountry Blessings). True to his artist’s calling, he’s staking out new ground.

In Fall 2015, with RADARTS and Coup de Cœur Francophone, Stef Paquette was on a big tour that brought him to 43 dates in 50 days going through 9 provinces and 1 territory from New Brunswick to Yukon. First franco-ontarian artist to do the nation-wide tour, he shared the scene with Fred Pellerin for sold out concerts.

In 2015, Stef Paquette garnered the Trille Or (French Ontario’s music industry awards) for

Best Male Performer as well as nominations for the Best Singer-Songwriter and the

Radio-Canada Public’s Choice awards. His charismatic stage presence and his ability to rally fans are widely recognized, as recently indicated by his ProducersChoice award at the 2014 Contact Ontarois industry showcase and his 2013 Trille Or award for Best Album.

Saturday Night Lineup:

Fans of Sweet Home Alabama, Freebird and all the great Lynyrd Skynyrd hits in between are loving our tribute band.   Our sound is true to the seventies southern rock genre and is a show band guaranteed to get you rockin the dance floor!

Here’s what Mark Basile said about SNS Canada.
Mark Basile plays with Lynyrd Skynyrd plane crash survivors, Artimus Pyle (Drummer), Ed King (Guitar player), Leslie Hawkins (Honkette) and the late JoJo Billingsley (Honkette). Mark also was a fill in guitar player for Gary Rossington when Gary was hospitalized in the 70’s during a tour.  “I watched the demo video and have to tell you that its RARE a Skynyrd Tribute band actually captures that “space” between notes, so when I say “clean” its probably the highest form of compliment I can give you. Can see that you guys concentrate on the music, as it should be, and “spaces” are awesome!!!! To many “tribute” bands sonically just don’t cut it – you guys do! Congrats!”

Harlequin has been in existence since the mid seventies and began their recording careers in New York at The Record Plant with Jack Douglas, legendary producer of John Lennon, Aerosmith, Cheap Trick, Blue Öyster Cult, The New York Dolls and Patti Smith to name a few.

They have toured across North and South America to great reviews and appreciative fans.

They still enjoy major airplay on the radio and are featured prominently in many a classic rocker’s music collection.

If you’ve never seen a Harlequin show you owe it to yourself to see why they are still around after more than three decades.

The 2017 Great Canadian Kayak Challenge & Festival is sponsored by David Whysall Fireworks.
