Family Leisure Paddle & Shore Lunch

John McIvor paddling his kayakJohn McIvor, an avid paddler, has assembled a team to lead a leisurely family paddling event departing Sunday August 29 2010, at 10 a.m. from the Mattagami River Beach area located south west of the Mattagami River Bridge.

Participants will paddle upstream 5 km on the Mountjoy River, past Miller Lake to an area that has been set aside for a traditional shore lunch consisting of pickerel, beans, homefries, wild berry tea and bottled water.

The Leisure Family Paddle and Shore Lunch provide participants with a great introduction to the sport of kayaking and allows for a great networking opportunity.

Costs:

Registration to this event will be restricted to 20 paddlers. Registration cost is set at $ 15.00 to included a guided trip complete with shore lunch. Participants must provide their own kayak, and all required safety gear.

All participants will be required to complete and sign a waiver in person on the day of the event. Please report to the "Registration Tent" at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday August 29th to complete the form.
